Well, it's actually more than a Boo Boo, it's more like a hairline fractured pelvis, torn ACL and various other bruising to his left rear leg........poor little guy. We don't know what actually happened, other than Sheryl heard him crying in the back yard. She went to get him and found him limping on the left rear leg. She checked him out and thought he may have broken his leg somehow, so Sheryl and Kaileigh rushed him right to the local Animal Urgent Care. The Vet was so nice and caring, when he hear Sheryl crying, he rushed right out, took Scrappy from her arms and got him back right away, Great Service!!! After the exam and X-Rays, the above was determined. Again, we don't know just what happened, but the Vet said, he has seen alot of injured dogs and Scrappy's injuries were consistent with being kicked very hard. There is a hole in the back fence, that Scrappy and Kaileigh's dogs get out once in a while, so they could have gotten out for a minute and some jerk may have kicked poor Scrappy. We'll never know. So the little guy is on pain killers and bed/kennel rest for two weeks. Vet said there is no way to splint or treat a hairline fracture to the pelvis, other than rest and to let it heal.
Poor Scrappy, wish him well and he'll be back to his ole self in no time. That's the latest news, so until next time.........................

Scrappy's New Doo
Today was Scrappy Doo's first hair cut/grooming and like all parents we were a little nervous about leaving him with a stranger. His appointment was for noon, however, it seemed the groomer was abit behind, so he wasn't finished until almost 4:00. When we arrived to pick him up, the groomer said she had quite the time with him, but she loved him and just raved about what a good boy he was.
Well, I sure you are wondering how he turned out................
Well here he is, transformed from our little ragamuffin, to a little puppy, he even looks almost grown up now. The groomer even added a little puppy chili pepper bandanna (too cute!!!). I told Sheryl on the way to drop him off, that if she puts a bow in his hair, that'll be the first thing to go!!!
However the little chili pepper bandanna is way cool, so I think we'll keep it. That was our excitement for the day. Tomorrow we are off for OKC. We are going to shoot for Amarillo, TX Friday, then head on in to OKC on Saturday. Our little Grand daughter will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, so we want to be there for that.
Ok, if we have a good WiFi signal, we'll see you tomorrow evening from Amarillo!!!

Texas BBQ and Scrappy Doo Too!!!
If you are a fan of "The Food Network" then you have probably seen or heard of the Salt Lick BBQ near Austin, TX. Well we had, and since we are here just outside Austin and it just happens to be down the street a bit from us, BBQ for lunch was in order.
The Salt Lick is known for Good BBQ, but mainly for the open pit in the middle of the kitchen, just inside the front door. The sausage is hung over the pit for hours until time to serve. When you first walk in you are hit with that great BBQ smell and then get to see your meal right on the pit.
One of the pit masters serving up some yummies.
The final stage in the process, Pork Ribs, Brisket and Smoked Sausage.........man it was good. They serve it up with German Potato Salad, Cole Slaw and Baked Beans, more than enough food to keep you happy and your tummy stuffed!!! In our travels we have had a chance to eat at several places featured and recommended on the Food Network, and have mostly been disappointed, However we were pleasantly surprised by the Salt Lick. So if you are in the Austin area, point your ride towards Driftwood, TX and give it a go, you'll surly enjoy yourself.
We are staying here in the Austin area with Sheryl's bother and family. They have a couple of Shiatsu dogs which had a litter of puppy's not to long ago and all the puppy's were sold. Well, it just happened that one of the puppies was returned, because he didn't get along with their other pups. Of course you can see where this is heading......................yup Sheryl fell head over heels for the little guy, and I must say he tugged at my heart strings also. So after a couple of days trying my best to hold out, I finally caved and we now have a new member of our clan..............Scrappy Doo!!!
He is just too cute for words, and has taken to following me everywhere, as well as making my slippers his favorite sleeping spot. He'll be a welcome companion during our travels and I'm sure many hours of entertainment and love. Welcome to the family Scrappy!!!
